2000 ASHRAE Summer Meeting in Minneapolis, MN
June 26, 2000

Chair Brian Webb called the meeting to order at 4:20 p.m.

Introduction of Members and Guests

Minutes of Winter Meeting in Dallas, TX was accepted

Chair Webb reported he attended a meeting on Monday morning 6/26/00; Items discussed:

Expo in Dublin. Discussed description of RTAR as reported by Phil Haves: He outlined procedures for describing research projects beginning with intent to submit work statement; TC would list projects in priority: review of content gives “green light” to a project. This procedure would allow review of a project to see if it is worthwhile before much time is spent on it.

Handbook - Evans Lizardos

All Chapter reviews with latest comments to be forwarded to Evans by Oct. 1/00. Include who is reviewer, reviser, contact person; include all comments. Evans to forward comments to TC 10.9 Committee. At Winter Meeting in Atlanta - Committee to review all comments and vote on next step. Meeting set up for Sunday, 2pm to 6pm; Chair Webb to contact Jan Young. Purpose of meeting is to review, comment and vote on acceptance of Chapters revised/reviewed.

Research - Bryan Becker, reporting for Gordon Follette

Priority research projects are identified as 1, 2 and 3 on attachment A; Need to write RTAR for these. Motion to accept projects identified as 1, 2 and 3 as potential projects was made, and seconded. Committee agreed to move forward with 1 or 2 and maybe 3. No discussion - motion passed.

Program - Ed Fuhrmann

Requested (2) subjects for Programs:

Chair Webb will meet Friday, 6/30/00 with Northfield Freezer - they indicated they are willing and enthused to make a presentation. Ron Vallort reported that (2) programs will be presented at each Society meeting: Back to Basics and Applications

Program Committee Chair to coordinate with Refrigeration Committee Chair.

Godan Nambudiripad suggested the topic entitled “What is the time for returning to production after wash down?” This topic will be considered. He reported that presently there is no good information on this topic. Discussion - USDA requires wash down every 24 hours; how can this be accomplished?

Need Recommendations for the following TC 10.9 Committee offices: Chair - Bryan Becker, Vice Chair - Rex Noble, Secretary - Robert Akkerman

Motion brought forward to accept above slate of officers, seconded. Passed on voice vote. New slate of officers to be effective after Annual Meeting, June, 2000.

Motion to adjourn - Meeting adjourned at 5:38pm.
