2000 ASHRAE Winter Meeting in Dallas, TX
February 7, 2000

  1. Announcements
    • Upcoming meeting in Dublin
    • Dr. Reid's recently published article in the ASHRAE Journal on food preservation was of interest
    • Handbook - Available next year in CD ROM format (for a fee of $50, can obtain hard copy and CD)
  2. Research/Program
    • George Smith - reported on Doors & Doorways - improper calculations ignore latent high traffic doorways
    • Per handbook subcommittee meeting - Follette to have draft by May 1 for further review at Minneapolis meeting
    • TC 10.8 - Ron Cole is putting together a Symposium. Cole has sent letters to people to participate - Humm to obtain copies of the letter and forward copies.
    • Handbook sections covering - Fire Protection & Seismic Design to be prepared by June
  3. Research
    • 1154 URP energy savings project was voted on by the TC 10.5 6/21/99 meeting and approved. Vote was turned into Mr. Seaton. There appears to be some question of the approval process. Bill Seaton's office to be contacted to clarify.
    • George Briley advised that research plan is due August 1st.
  4. Handbook
    • Chapter 13 - to be reviewed by June
    • Chapter 10 - to be reviewed by Dr. Reid Webb, Humm to follow up
  5. Roster
    • Roster discussed, with reference to successor chairman of this committee. It was suggested that Section 10 Chairman Mr. Black is responsible to make this assignment.
  6. Postscript - 6/27/00 Minneapolis Meeting - our programs
    • Forum 28 "Should ASHRAE Become More Involved in Environmental Control of Food Processing Areas?" - Room 101 F, 10:15 to 11:05 on Tuesday 6/27/00
    • Forum 30 "Air Side Controls for Refrigerated Storage - Are We Blowing Hot Air?" - Room 101 F, 11:15 to 12:05 on Tuesday 6/27/00
